Novelis Europe leadership

Novelis has announced a change in the management of its Automotive and Can businesses in Europe. 

Michael Hahne, who previously served as Vice President and General Manager Can in Novelis Europe, will assume the position of Vice President and General Manager Automotive in Novelis Europe effective April 1, 2016. Michael succeeds Pierre Labat, who has been appointed as Vice President, Sales and Marketing Global Automotive and will move to the company’s global headquarters in Atlanta, USA.

Michael Hahne joined Novelis in 2008 and served in various management positions, mostly in the company’s Automotive segment. He has led the Can Value Stream in Novelis Europe since September 2014. Prior to this, he served as Director Automotive Sales in Novelis Europe and as Global Account Director for Daimler. Before joining Novelis, Michael Hahne held project and key account manager positions at several main system suppliers to the automotive industry. He holds a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Applied Sciences in Constance, Germany.

Marcus Becker, previously Director of Metal Planning and Sourcing at Novelis Europe, will succeed Michael Hahne as the new Vice President and General Manager Can Value Stream in Europe. Marcus Becker joined Novelis in 1999 and has held several leadership positions, including Sales Director Can Europe, Global Can Director for Middle East, Africa and India, and Global Account Director Can. He graduated from the Academy of Cooperative Education in Göttingen and received his MBA in General Management.
